Sammy Dresie, a multisport athlete at Maize South, knows that between athletics and academics, high school can be hectic. Throughout the year, Dresie makes sure to keep himself rested and healthy.
“Make sure you take care of your body and stretch as often as possible,” Dresie said. “I try to get plenty of sleep while still keeping up with my school work.”
Being involved with multiple teams means more relationships built with other athletes. For Dresie, his favorite moments have happened with his fellow teammates.
“Going to team dinners every week with my teammates has been my favorite memory,” Dresie said.
After a successful junior year of football, with over 1000 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, Dresie still found ways to improve himself and his team.
“My main goal was to make a deep run in the playoffs, unfortunately, we had an early loss,” Dresie said. “My personal goal was to have more receiving yards than my sophomore year and I accomplished this. My area of improvement is my route running. I’ve been working on this since the end of last season.”
With one more year to go at Maize South, Dresie has aspirations to continue playing sports and further his education.
“I hope to be fortunate enough to play football at the next level and get a degree in business,” Dresie said.
