Jeron Askren may have already committed to play football for Missouri State after this season, but in his mind, he and his Maize South teammates have unfinished business to attend to.
“My goals for this upcoming season are to win the league and go on to make a run at state,” Askren said, and he plans on improving one particular area individually in order to make those goals come true.
“I understand my role and one area I have to improve on is becoming more of a vocal leader. So I’ve been consciously trying to lead by example as well as encouraging from a vocal perspective” Askren commented. That vocal leadership will no doubt play an important role in the formation of the team chemistry that Askren says he is looking forward to seeing.
“We’ve put in a lot of work this offseason, so I’m most excited to see how we perform,” Askren says of his teammates, “and we have a really great group of guys that understand we have to continue to push one another.”
