VYPE got to sit down with Maize Volleyball’s Jordyn Bird and find out more about who she is.
VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?
My goals for this year are to get good grades and figure out exactly where I want to go for college.
VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?
My favorite teacher has to be my Mr. Porter. He was always supporting me and was a really good person inside and outside of the classroom.
VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?
I don’t have a specific favorite athletic memory but any time I step out onto the court I try to make each time a memorable one.
VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
Abby Godfrey has had the biggest impression on me. My sophomore year and her senior year she was by my side the whole way. No matter what situation I was in, she was there for me. Not only did she make me a better volleyball player but she made me a better person.
VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?
My favorite part about playing on this team is the love we have for each other. From the beginning of the summer we all made connections right away. We are already a family and have so much energy on the court! I can wait for this upcoming season!
VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?
I would go to a beach, probably in Florida or Alabama. I would probably take some friends with me.
VYPE: If we gave you $1,000 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?
I would give most of it to the people in need and use the rest on clothes.
