Maize South’s senior Jenna Sokoll is focused on her senior year of softball to produce quality in all areas of her game. “I have worked over the past three years on my craft for this season, so I am just trying to hone my skills and give my all for myself and my teammates for my last time out.” This year, the team is looking promising for their chances to make state. “With this group of girls, it is our best chance to earn a bid at state and we are more than willing to put in the work to get us there.”
Sokoll has a short list of teams she is really looking forward to playing. “This season, I am really looking forward to playing the teams that beat us last year and trying to avenge our loss.” This year Sokoll and her teammates, coaches, and everyone involved in Maize South softball have a new sense of determination. The team is working hard to prepare for every opponent with hard work and extra focus.
After a disappointing sophomore season for Sokoll, she was determined to come back for her junior season and leave her mark on the field. After her junior year, Sokoll was named AVCTL 5A First Team All-League-Utility, Sports in Kansas All-State Honorable Mention, and All-Metro Third Team.
Other than softball, Sokoll competes in volleyball. She is also in Madrigal Choir and in Pep Club. After graduation, Sokoll plans to attend the University of Kansas and major in Pre-Nursing on the Pre-Physician’s Assistant track.
